Denmark property for sale Denmark: Mercer Investment Consulting to provide

Mercer Investment Consulting has signed a co-operation agreement with sea property in Denmark investment consulting firm Invensure to provide manager research and selection services to the Danish institutional investment market.

Many Danish life insurance companies and pension funds have now moved from internal to external asset management, and the demand for sophisticated mainstream and alternative investment products is expected to increase exponentially in coming years.

Says Nicolai Berg, Nordic head of Mercer Investment Consulting: 'We have developed a strong position among large clients in the rest of the Nordics and we strongly believe that, together with Invensure, we will establish a similar position in Denmark. Mercer and Invensure are well placed to provide research intelligence and advice to help local organisations develop their investment management arrangements.'

Invensure is a leading Danish investment consulting company focusing on asset liability analysis, risk management and strategic asset allocation advice for Danish life insurance companies and pension funds. Founded in 2003, it has provided consulting services for over half of all Danish life insurance companies and pension funds, with a total of around EUR100bn in assets under management.

"Over the last six months Invensure has been researching the market for an investment consultant to work with in supplying global manager research to the domestic market, and has come to the conclusion that Mercer is the optimal business partner,' says chief executive Søren Andersen.

'We are attracted to Mercer's depth and breath of manager and product research, as well as its resources and commitment to serving the Nordic markets. Clients will have access to Mercer's research, either through its consultants or its internet-based global investment management database and management performance analysis.'

Says the European head of Mercer Investment Consulting, Andrew Kirton: 'Mercer is committed to the Nordics and now has a local presence in Oslo, Copenhagen and Stockholm, where staff were hired last year from MPIR, a local investment consultancy. The partnership with Invensure, a high-quality Danish operation, is key to further developing our footprint in the region.'
