Buying properties in France The Property Market in Poitou-Charentes, France

Poitou-Charentes is located in Central France on the Atlantic Coast and is still one of the French regions with attractive and sought after sea property in France. It consists of 4 contrasting departments - Charente-Maritime, Deux-Sèvres, Vienne and Charente. The region boasts a number of attractions including 200 miles of sandy beach, the marinas of La Rochelle and of course, the home of ‘Cognac’.

Flights from the UK are regular, including the discount airlines Ryanair and Flybe.com. This, plus its mild climate, is attracting large numbers of overseas investors, particularly from the UK. With consistent rental yields on investments, houses prices have been rising – however, the region still provides great ‘value for money’ when compared to other areas of France.
