Azerbaijan property Opening of new settlement built for IDPS in Sabunchu district of Baku, Azerbaijan

New settlement with new property in Azerbaijan built for IDP families near Ramana settlement in Sabunchu district of Baku was opened on May 4.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the ceremony.

Residents of settlement warmly welcomed President Ilham Aliyev and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva.

Deputy Premier, chairman of Dovletgachgynkom Ali Hasanov informed the President 450 IDP families temporarily resettled in completely unsuitable buildings of Zugulba Sanatorium in Azizbayov district have been moved to the new settlement. Construction of the settlement covering 80 hectares started last December, it was commissioned on April 10 this year. Total area of 450 dwelling houses is 29,000 sq.m. 90 of houses consist of 1 room (46,7 sq.m, costing 22,000 AZN), 222 of 2 rooms (63,1 sq.m, costing 29,344 AZN), 134 of 3 rooms (77,8 sq.m, costing 33,000 AZN) and 4 of 4 rooms (91 sq.m, costing 38 min 224,000 AZN). There is 360-seat school building, music school, ambulance station, post office, administrative building. 16-km asphalt road, 21-km water pipe, 19-km electric line, 27-km gas and 34-km sewage and drainage lines have been built, 10 400 and 250-kw and 1 10-mw high-tension transformers installed, 2 500-cubic meter reservoirs and a pump station constructed.

State Oil Fund has allotted 37,4 mln AZN to construction of the new settlement. 18,4 mln AZN of that were used for social-technical infrastructure establishments. 400 families resettled in the settlement are from Shusha, other 50 families from Agdam, Lachyn, Khojaly and Khojavand districts.

President Ilham Aliyev was first acquainted with the Malybayli Village Children Music School of Shusha District Culture and Tourism Department. The President and First Lady were presented flowers.

The President saw ‘Garabagh Shikestesi’ performed by little singers - pupils of the music school missing Shusha, musical center of Azerbaijan. The music school employing 22 teachers is attended by 148 children in thar, kamancha, accordion, drum, fortepiano and chorus sections. They take active part in festivals and contests in the republic, possess ancient music traditions of Garabagh.

President of Azerbaijan was familiarized at the music school with photo corners ‘Shusha child music schools in present’, ‘Heydar Aliyev in Shusha. 1982’, ‘Shusha is the city of historical monuments’, saw the photos reflecting visit of great leader to Shusha in the 80s last century and meetings held there. President Aliyev listened to songs sang by the chorus band. The President and First Lady were photographed with children.
